The law also gives the attorney general the ability to prosecute someone for alleged violations of the law, even if the county prosecutor declines to prosecute.

The rule would bar public schools and colleges that received federal funding from outright banning transgender students from participating in sports teams consistent with their gender identity, while allowing some exclusions in specific high school and college sports. If you don’t abide by rules you will not get federal funding.
