Luke 24:1-12 “He Has Risen!” 04/09/2023

We know that Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus took the body of Jesus off the cross and He was laid in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea.
We are told that it was Nicodemus who brought the spices needed to anoint the body…
Please…I want you to understand what it cost these two men to do what they did.
1. They touched a dead body which made them ceremonial unclean to celebrate Passover with their family.
2. Because of a proclamation issued by the Jewish leaders that said that anyone who had anything to do with Jesus of Nazareth was to be put out of the temple.
To a Jew and his family that was a life changing event because the temple was the center of Jewish life.
But for these two men…knowing Jesus was also a life-changing event…they believed in Jesus…they believed He was the Messiah…
So, they gave up everything to follow Him.
