Young Great Horned Owl

o I was driving down the road in Nova Scotia Pictou County near the salt water a few years ago on May 31st when I happened across this large baby owl. I knew I had to chase it off the road before it got ran over. It had lots of attitude! And check out the length of its talons! Crazy! I have seen these as adults grow much larger than the books say they should, I have seen them stand up to 3 feet tall with eyes the size of baseballs. (No kidding, they get enormous here) When this one turns to waddle off the road you can see it’s flight feathers aren’t even in yet. It was size of a medium turkey! You can hear crows cawing frantically in background, I think I interrupted a fight possibly. Enjoy the short video!
