Dobson, an award-winning amateur filmmaker, captured the island life from the Victorian fishing lodge at Uig on the Isle of Lewis, which belonged to his brother Jim. The film features captivating storybook inter-titles and scenes of a girl hanging bedclothes, a teacher with glasses, a bun and a pink cardigan holding court in a 1950s school, and an old lady spinning at her wheel.
