Before Rae Sremmurd dropped Tracks Like “No Flex Zone,” “No Type” & “Throw Some Mo.”
Before They picked up a BET Award for Best Group in 2015.
Before they had the catchphrase #SremmLife
Before their music was considered a reflection of social media culture with songs titles trending on Twitter before anyone knew who they were.

The two hail from the same small hometown as that of Elvis Presley. They worked odd end jobs with Jimmy working as a Mattress factory, Swae Lee at McDonald’s and both of them working at The Olive Garden. They put all their money into their recordings and were even living in abandoned houses in which they worked out a deal for free electricity which would light up the house parties they would throw at night.

Slim Jimmy was born Aquil Brown on December 29, 1993. Swae Lee was born Khalif Brown on June 27, 1995.

The Two were born in California, but moved to Fort Hood Texas and later Tupelo, where they were raised in the notorious Ida Street housing projects, some of the worst, most crime-ridden in the state.
