Dr Russ participated in numerous 9mm, 45 caliber, 12 gauge shotgun and AR-15 competitions after returning from Vietnam, after serving as an Infantry Platoon Leader with the Big Red One.  He often fired 1,000 rounds in the week prior to a major competition.  Dr. Russ’ participation in these competitions’ oven had some carry over to shooting accurately with air guns.

While all competitions required a secretive and detailed preparation list, Dr. Russ has asked a young man and friend, to join him in this video.  A friend named Izzy, who competes regularly in air rifle completions today.  Izzy is a key executive of Donnyfl in Florida.  He too has a secretive and detailed preparation list when it comes to national and global competitions.

Awards can be as high as $30,000 and prize tables can include some very expensive air guns … along with trophies, medals and even ribbons. Fortunately, Izzy agreed to share his list … along with Dr. Russ’ own list with the viewers of Dr. Russ Air Rifle Adventures.  While most viewers won’t enter air gun competitions, Dr. Russ knows that they still compete with themselves, or a few select friends in any scheduled air gun get together.  They can also drive home disappointed following a hunt, where that important trophy got away due to poor accuracy.  Its far more exciting and rewarding when you know as much as possible about shooting accurately from those who shoot in national and global competitions.  That is what this Dr. Russ Air Rifle Adventure video is all about.
