Before romancing Angelina Jolie, Patricia Arquette and Lisa Marie Presley.
Before starring in critically acclaimed action, drama and comedy films.
Before becoming the man who launched a thousand memes.

Nicolas Cage was born into what can only be called a film family dynasty. Inspired by James Dean, Nick decided that he wanted to act, and changed his last name from Coppola to Cage to avoid any special treatment. By the time he was 18, Cage had not only landed a TV pilot, which gave us this gem--

--But he was also cast in a small part in the hit teen comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Most of Cage’s scenes were cut but you can still see him in the background & it was there he started a lifetime

In 1983 Cage was cast as the romantic lead in Valley Girl, going from fresh out of school actor to leading man in only 2 years. The label stuck for the rest of the 80’s and Cage went on to star in some of the biggest films of the decade.

Cage’s success continued into the 90’s and at 32 years old he not only won an Oscar for his role in Leaving Las Vegas and from there he took over the big screen throughout the 90’s.
