Cider (Down To the Stillhouse) Mountain Banjo song

Cider, also known as Down To The Stillhouse, Also called Stillhouse. Originally an old time fiddle tune. It`s not very well known, I heard the ClawhammerBrainjo version on banjo and was blown away by it. He only sang a few verses though so I surfed the internet and found some more verses. I play it on a mountain banjo. My banjo playing is a little rough in spots, I`m dealing with yet another trigger finger which is a tendon problem in the finger that makes it stiff and lock up. You know me I always got an excuse ready. Woody, one of my cats pays a visit. There`s an intro and a long outro where I talk a about my cats. Feel free to skip those parts. No hard feelings.

Cider - lyrics

You get a horse and I’ll be the rider
Down to the stillhouse to get a little cider.

Cider, cider, a little more cider
Down to the stillhouse to get a little cider.

Hickory horse and a white oak saddle
And a pretty little gal ridin a-straddle.

Sal went down to get a little cider
Little white dog run alonside her.

We rode down to the foot of the hill
If we hadn’t come back we’d a-been there still.

Cider, cider, a little more cider
Down to the stillhouse to get a little cider.

Sal went down with me alongside her
Down to the stillhouse to get a little cider.

Hickory horse and a white oak saddle
And a pretty little gal ridin a-straddle.

You get a horse and I’ll be the rider
Down to the stillhouse to get a little cider.

Cider, cider, a little more cider
Down to the stillhouse to get a little cider.
