Maundy Thursday

Today begins the four most intense days of Holy Week.

Maundy Thursday Jesus washes his disciples’ feet and shares the feast of Passover with them in the upper room.

After the Passover feast, they leave for the garden of Gethsemane. It is there Jesus prays for them and strength to face his crucifixion.

While he is praying, Judas brings the temple guard to arrest him. Judas shows the guard who Jesus is by greeting him with a kiss.

Jesus is taken to the home of Caiaphas, the High Priest, where the whole council had gathered to begin making their case against him.

Gracious God, Jesus suffered such great injustice and hatred. I thank you I am saved by what he has done and because of his love for us. Help me to share this love with others. Amen!
