Amazon unveiled the $1,000 Astro home robot.

Amazon held a presentation in which they unveiled a compact home robot called Astro. The device is able to recognize faces and deliver items to a specific person. Astro can play music, display weather information and answer questions like any Echo smart display. The novelty can be used to make video calls, with the robot keeping the user in the frame, following him on his heels. When no one is home, the robot will wheel around the rooms to make sure everything is okay.
