Before They Were Dead Steve Irwin. Before Steve would risk life and limb daily and become known around the world as The Crocodile Hunter...

Steve Irwin literally grew up surrounded by dangerous critters being raised by his parents on Beerwah Reptile Park in Queensland Australia. He took over management of the park in the 1991 after returning from years in the bush studying crocodiles. One day while doing a demonstration he met a visiting American tourist named Terri Raines. The next year they were married and Steve and Terri spent their honeymoon doing the most romantic thing possible, filming themselves messing around with giant crocodiles.

That footage eventually became the pilot for The Crocodile Hunter TV show and began the world’s fascination with Steve Irwin.

Sadly in 2006, Steve was attacked not by a crocodile but by a wild stingray who punctured his chest and pierced his heart which was captured on film. The footage has since been destroyed.
