Began with (what else?) Trump's indictment by a left-wing DA, who has "trumped up" a case against him by converting what would qualify as misdemeanors into felonies on the basis that they were committed to conceal a more serious crime--but he has yet to share with the world what that "more serious crime" is supposed to be! So the indictment is not sufficient on its face, but satisfies the Democrats desire to pillory their opponent (against whom they cannot possibly win an honest competition) to hobble him in the general election next year. Indeed, the braintrust advising Biden calculates that Trump will still win the GOP nomination, but that swing voters are not going to go for a guy with criminal charges against him (and therefore Biden will win)! That's the game plan. But the latest Rasmussen poll shows that, on the contrary, Trump's suppose had gone up 10 points since his indictment--and he now leads Biden in a hypothetical 2024 presidential race.
