AP: Pence won’t appeal order compelling grand jury testimony

On Wednesday, a representative for Mike Pence stated that the former vice president will not challenge a judge’s order requiring him to testify in the Justice Department’s investigation of efforts by Donald Trump and his associates to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election.

This decision may result in Pence appearing before a federal grand jury in the upcoming weeks, as part of the inquiry into attempts made by Trump and his supporters to reverse Joe Biden’s victory before the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, 2021.

Numerous officials from the Trump administration have provided testimony in both this investigation and a separate inquiry focused on Trump’s possession of classified information, the Associated Press reported.
