Speaker McCarthy and Taiwanese President speak at joint press conference in California

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen held a joint press conference at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, President Ing-wen attended a meeting with over a dozen House lawmakers and Speaker McCarthy to discuss relations between the two countries.
