Making Old-fashioned Wood Shingles (or Shakes) - The FHC Show, ep 19

Pa Mac demonstrates how to make wood shingles (otherwise known as wood shakes) for roofing material to go on his new log chicken house. Using old-fashioned tools and simple raw materials, this old time, self-sufficient, and sustainable skill can be practiced by young and old alike on the small farm. This is episode #19 of The Farm Hand's Companion Show. (A later episode will cover installation methods for wood shakes/shingles.)

Be sure and subscribe to the Farm Hand's Companion channel to keep up with the progress as Pa Mac takes an undeveloped piece of property and turns it into a small subsistence farm. Watch for new episodes as often as Pa Mac can crank 'em out and still run a small farm. (As long as he's alive and kicking, he's most assuredly farming and filming!)
