David Bowie is the pioneer of Alternative Rock, and he created personas in order to perform live, until he became comfortable with himself later on in his career post Ziggy stardust and The White Duke. He did something never done before and performed with Nine Inch Nails on their co-headlining tour; and mixing their own mashed up reinterpretations of each other’s songs.
