Darth Vader has enamored fans ever since his first appearance during the opening scenes of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977, and Vader's a character that still captivates Star Wars fans today. After Darth Vader survived his duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, was created when Skywalker turned to the dark side of the Force, pledging his allegiance to the Sith Lord Darth Sidious at the end of the Republic Era. Vader would go onto to enforced the rule of the New Order as the Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine's Sith apprentice throughout most of the Imperial Era. Over the span of Imperial rule, Darth Vader sought and killed any Jedi he and the Inquisitorious discovered survived the Great Jedi Purge. Furthermore, as Darth Sidious' apprentice, Darth Vader acted as Darth Sidious' enforcer, ensuring the Sith maintained a vice-like grip of control on the galaxy. Darth Vader's prowess, skill, power, and knowledge in the force were unlike few of the Sith that came before him, as the Sith Lord was a vergence in the Force. His blood contained over twenty-thousand midi-chlorians, surpassing that of Grand Master Yoda and all other Jedi in the galaxy. Vader's reign of terror on the Galaxy would have long lasting effects, even after his death, as his grandson, Ben Solo aka Kylo Ren, vowed to finish the work that Darth Vader had started a generation earlier—and to succeed where Vader and his sentimentality had failed.

Darth Vader was one of the characters that made me fall in love with Star Wars when I was a youngling, and he’s still a character that I enjoy seeing in new Star Wars stories. Additionally, Darth Vader is set to appear in the upcoming Disney+ Series, Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is a live-action television series currently being developed by Lucasfilm. It is set to air on Disney's new online streaming service, Disney+. The series will feature Ewan McGregor reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. It will take place ten years after Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. On December 10, 2020, it was announced that Hayden Christensen would be reprising his role as Darth Vader in the series. Deborah Chow has been tapped to direct the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which takes place eight years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and before Star Wars: A New Hope. The series will be written by Hossein Amini (The Alienist, Drive). Chow, Amini, and McGregor will serve as Executive Producers alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Tracey Seaward (The Queen) and John Swartz (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Jason McGatlin, Lucasfilm’s Executive Vice President Production, will serve as co-producer. Obi-Wan Kenobi will see Darth Vader and his former Jedi Master. Obi-Wan Kenobi, face-off once again in a highly anticipated duel.
