‘I’m going to run for President of the United States’: Asa Hutchinson l This Week ....

Asa Hutchinson, the former governor of Arkansas, has announced that he intends to run for President of the United States. The announcement came during an appearance on the ABC News program "This Week."

Hutchinson, a Republican, served as governor of Arkansas from 2015 to 2021. He is also a former congressman and served as the director of the Drug Enforcement Administration during the George W. Bush administration.

During his appearance on "This Week," Hutchinson stated that he believes the country is facing a number of challenges, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and that he believes he has the experience and leadership qualities necessary to address those challenges.

"I think the country is in a difficult spot right now. We've got a lot of issues that we're dealing with - the pandemic, the economy, national security issues - and I think we need somebody with experience and somebody with leadership skills to step up and address those challenges," Hutchinson said.

Hutchinson also stated that he believes the Republican Party needs to focus on issues that unite Americans rather than dividing them, and that he intends to run a positive, issue-focused campaign.

"I think it's important for Republicans to focus on issues that unite us as a country, rather than trying to divide us. I'm going to run a positive campaign that focuses on the issues that matter to Americans - creating jobs, improving healthcare, and keeping our country safe," Hutchinson said.

Hutchinson is one of several Republicans who have announced their intention to run for president in 2024, including former President Donald Trump, who has not yet formally announced his candidacy. The Republican primary is expected to be highly contested, with a number of candidates vying for the nomination.
