The tiger is a carnivorous mammal of the Felidae family and is one of the largest cats in the world. Tigers are known for their distinctive orange coat with black stripes, and they are found primarily in Asia. They are apex predators and can weigh up to 660 pounds (300 kg) in the wild. Tigers are solitary animals and are generally most active at night, although they may also be active during the day. They are excellent swimmers and are known to be able to swim up to 3 miles (5 km) at a time. Sadly, tigers are also an endangered species due to habitat loss and poaching.
