At the height of tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, NATO had decided to take part in bombing Serbia and its neighbor - Montenegro (at that time, they were part of Serbian territory before sometime in the 2000s became independent), in 1999 (some nations pointed out that it's unfair and so concerning, while others supported NATO's actions).

And, instead of making such hatred towards USA and NATO, they decided to create a very positive & patriotic song - which is none other than the "legendary" Volimo Te Otadzbino Naša, that had been broadcasted in the country for some time during that event.
