Actor Keanu Reeves discusses the potential for a John Wick and The Equalizer crossover involving himself and Denzel Washington in John Wick: Chapter 4. After the events in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, the titular character, played by Keanu Reeves, finds a method to destroy the High Table in the upcoming John Wick movie, which also stars Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, and Bill Skarsgrd. After that, Len Wiseman's Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, and Peacock's The Continental will represent the first forays of the John Wick franchise into the world of spinoffs.

An Equalizer crossover was brought up by a fan during Reeves' Reddit Q&A session to promote the release of John Wick: Chapter 4. The actor provided an answer to the query. When asked if a "John Wick x Equalizer" crossover movie starring Reeves and Washington had ever been explored, Reeves only responded, "...Ha...no...that would be crazy. Crazy good!"

The John Wick Spinoffs: All We Know
Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas will star in the John Wick spinoff Ballerina.
The likelihood of a John Wick crossover movie is incredibly remote, but the series will shortly release two offshoot titles. The first is Ballerina, which takes place in between John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and Chapter 4 of the film series. It features Ana de Armas as Rooney, an assassin and ballerina who embarks on a mission motivated by retaliation after her family is murdered. Veteran actors from the John Wick series Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Angelica Huston are all expected to make an appearance, and Keanu Reeves will return as Wick. The movie is directed by Len Wiseman, using a script by Shay Hatten and Emerald Fennell.

The Continental, a television miniseries that chronicles Winston Scott's rise to become the hotel's owner, is the second anticipated spinoff. The 1970s are the setting for the program, which stars Colin Woodell as a young Winston. Furthermore included are Mel Gibson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, and Peter Greene. Three 90-minute episodes of the miniseries, which was created by Albert Hughes and Charlotte Brändström, will premiere on Peacock at an undetermined time.

There will likely be additional offshoot movies and television shows after Ballerina and The Continental, however John Wick 5 is also in the pipeline. Whatever the case, John Wick universe creator Chad Stahelski seems eager to broaden it in one way or another through the franchise's core flicks and spinoffs. The goal appears to be to develop a complex and unique universe for an action series that may live far longer than Reeves. Baba Yaga will be back in theaters on March 24 in John Wick: Chapter 4, so audiences won't have to wait long.

Rina Sawayama, who plays Akira, the Osaka concierge in John Wick: Chapter 4, needed persuasion because she had never performed on stage or screen before.

The director of John Wick: Chapter 4 claimed that actor Rina Sawayama needed some persuasion to join the most recent John Wick sequel. The Osaka Continental's concierge, played by Sawayama's Akira, battles with Wick throughout the picture. The fact that she is the daughter of Shimazu Koji, the manager of the Osaka Continental and an old friend of John's, complicates her role in the film.

Stahelski said to Entertainment Weekly that Sawayama needed some persuasion to join the John Wick: Chapter 4 cast. He admits that she first hesitated to join the film because it was her first time acting. See what Stahelski had to say after the break:

"I called her and introduced myself as the director of John Wick. She said, "Oh, I enjoy those movies," to which I replied, "That's excellent; how would you like to be in one?" There was a brief awkward pause before she replied, "Well, I don't do movies, I've never acted, and I don't do action."

She flew from London to Berlin, spent the day with me, Keanu, and our stunt team, and did some assessment. Having come from a performance-dance background, she had a great mindset and memory for choreography, as well as a natural ability to perform. She also has this vibe and charisma about her that obviously speaks for itself. After the day, she was cast."

Akira played by Rina Sawayama in Chapter 4 of John Wick
The fact that Sawayama will be acting in her very first movie makes her selection for John Wick: Chapter 4 so intriguing. Although Sawayama is a singer and dancer, Stahelski was more interested in hiring her due of her dancing skills because of the more action-oriented parts linked with the John Wick franchise. This is due to the fact that Akira's fighting style is comparable to a dancer's in the action scenes in John Wick: Chapter 4.
