The Sri Lanka National Museum is a cultural and historical museum located in the city of Colombo. It was established in 1877 and is the oldest museum in Sri Lanka. The museum contains a vast collection of artifacts, including ancient artwork, statues, coins, and manuscripts, spanning over 2,500 years of Sri Lankan history. It also houses a library and a research center. Some of the highlights of the museum's collection include the throne and crown of the last Kandyan king, as well as the 9th-century Buddha statue, Avukana Buddha.
