SAVANA, 28, met Chris, 44, when she was hired as a hairstylist at the salon he owns. Their relationship began platonically since both of them had recently come out of long-term relationships. She explained: "We met when I came to his salon and I interviewed there as a stylist and wasn't interested in having any kind of relationship because I just left one." "Nor was I," Chris agreed. "Filing for divorce, my life was kind of in a tailspin." However, over time the two grew closer: "Once I was separated from my current situation, the more I would talk to her, be around her I felt there's something super special there that I had never really felt before," Chris explained. They hid their relationship to begin with as they were already being accused of having an affair, but once they did tell coworkers of their romance they were scrutinised. "There was a big controversy between if I was a home wrecker or if [Chris had] cheated," Savana said. The couple is now happily married, with six children together, three of them are theirs and the other three are from Chris' previous relationship. Savana is only seven years older than Chris' daughter Tizzi, and the two have grown close. They started sharing their family dynamic online and went viral once viewers learned of the small age gap between the stepmom and daughter. "I had made the mistake of putting my age above where I was and her age above where she was. And it just started this big massive tornado of negative comments," Savana said. "Most of them were geared towards Chris." Commenters began accusing Chris of wanting to date someone who looked like his daughter. "Anything that you can imagine the sickest of sickest things that you could think of." One video gained 2.7 million views and was shared 5,000 times. The criticism became intense at times, Chris admitted: "We just basically got destroyed." Savana is even called a gold digger by some, which sometimes hurts her: "I feel like it discredits how hard I work, I work full-time, I'm a full-time mom." The couple has been able to brush off the trolls, seeing the strength in their relationship: "They have nothing better to do with their time, they're obviously unhappy in their life," Chris said. "Why does your brain go there? Maybe something's wrong with you," Savana agreed. "We're just one big family and it doesn't matter what anybody says because we're happy and that's all that matters."
