If you want to know what the future of China looks like, just take a look at what's happening right now.

In the past few weeks, we've seen a surprising number of animals bite vehicles—and if that sounds like a joke, it's not.

The first instance happened in Yichang, Sichuan province, where six baby gray langur monkeys bit through the tires of a van. The second incident occurred in Tianjin, where a pack of five jackals bit through the tires of a bus and injured two passengers.

Police are now investigating whether these incidents were intentional and whether they're related to each other.

Meanwhile, in Fujian province, Chinese vice premier Wang Yang was attacked by an angry mob who thought he was trying to steal their children. His driver was also killed during the incident.

China is retaliating for these attacks by banning all foreigners from entering some parts of Yulin city for three days starting tomorrow!

China has threatened to take retaliatory measures if President Trump's secretary of state meets with Taiwan's president, escalating a diplomatic spat between the two countries that began when China's President Xi Jinping visited the United States last month.

"If this meeting happens, we will immediately adopt measures that can make the U.S. regret," China's Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. "This is totally unacceptable and bears serious consequences for the future development of China-U.S. relations."

The Trump administration has not yet publicly confirmed whether or not Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will meet with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen during his current trip to Asia, but Chinese officials have indicated that they would consider it an "unfriendly" gesture if he did so.
