China is retaliating against President Donald Trump’s move to meet with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen.

In an unprecedented move, China has said it will limit trade with the US and other countries that meet with Taiwan’s leader.

A statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry said: “The situation in Taiwan Strait is complex and sensitive. The Chinese side expresses regret at this matter. We hope the relevant parties can maintain restraint, do not take actions that hurt bilateral relations, and avoid words or deeds that would further complicate the issue.”

The statement comes after Trump tweeted on Tuesday: “I look very much forward to going to China for a meeting soon. I have great confidence they will help us with North Korea, just as they will help us with South Korea. It is up to them what they did with North Korea."
China is taking a stand against the United States.

As you may have heard, President Donald Trump recently met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. It was a historic meeting that took place in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. The two leaders discussed trade agreements, North Korea, and other issues of international importance.

But this meeting wasn't without controversy. As reported by Reuters and other news sources, during their discussion on trade agreements, Trump made some comments that have caused outrage in China. Specifically, he said that he would be willing to label China a currency manipulator if they did not stop manipulating their currency rate against the dollar.

He also said that the U.S. would be imposing tariffs on Chinese goods as well as increasing tariffs on steel imports from Mexico and Canada. In response to these statements, Chinese officials are warning that they will retaliate if the U.S. carries out its threats against them regarding these issues."
