Big Rig Nearly Hits Lufkin Police And Bystander

Lufkin police released video of an 18-wheeler's brakes locking up, causing the truck's trailer to swing toward officers and a bystander along the road.

The video shows the men, who were waiting for a tow truck, jump into the nearby woods for protection before the truck driver regains control.

The truck driver left the scene but was later tracked down. He reportedly told police he didn't see them jump out of the way or he would have stopped to check on them.

There were no injuries, and police say no citations will be issued.

Police commended the truck driver for regaining control of his vehicle.
