Should You Buy the Hyperkin EVA Hard Shell Carrying case for the Nintendo Switch Lite

In this video, we unbox and test out the EVA hard case for the Nintendo Switch Lite from Hyperkin.

In the month since its release, I have to admit I've gotten more use out of my Nintendo Switch Lite that I ever expected. One of the great things about it is the battery life being considerably better than the originals. On my recent trip to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, I needed a way to transport my Switch Lite while providing protection in my laptop bag. That's where the Hyperkin EVA Hard Case came into play.

The EVA hard case comes in three different colors, white with a blue zipper, white with a yellow zipper, and black with a white zipper. I love the way the black with the white zipper looks, I kind of wish the yellow and the blue cases had black instead of white on it. I think the aesthetics just look great.

Inside the case itself you have two elastic bands to hold your Switch Lite securely. On the top half of the case you have a flap that can hold multiple games, and there's a storage pocket in the top half of the case. The storage pocket can hold your power cord, charging cable, or other accessories.

One of the things I was most curious about was whether I could use the EVA Hard Case with some of Hyperkin's other accessories for the Switch Lite, most notably their new Grip Case which I have been using non-stop since I got it. I'm happy to report that you can absolutely use the grip case and the EVA Hard Case.

Why it RoX:
- Budget-friendly
- Provides very good protection for your switch light if you throw in a laptop bag or other backpack
- Available in three different colors to match your switch light
- Compatible with other accessories from hyperkin such as the grip case
- Integrated storage pocket for things like charging cables and headphones

What could be improved?
- The white is a bit of a dirt magnet; I'd prefer if all three cases were black with accented trim zippers
- No room for power supply
- More color options would be great
- The mesh retainer that holds accessories in the top of the lid could be a little taller, I had a few things fall out.

Should you buy one?
So first and foremost let's just acknowledge if you have a Switch Lite the odds are you're going to be traveling with it quite a bit. As such, you really should protect your system some way and somehow. For the money, the Hyperkin EVA Hard Case does a really nice job of keeping your equipment secure and protecting it well in a backpack or either bag. The zipper seems to be of good construction, and the overall design is pretty proven. They didn't reinvent the wheel here, it's a pretty common design but that's a good thing. Using it extensively when traveling to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo and back, my Switch Lite looked great when I took it out and I was able to keep my accessories in it and organized. For the money, it's a good way to transport your Switch Lite and something you should consider looking at.
