Fix Your Original NES So It Reads Your Cartridges with the Arcadeworks Blinking Light Win Mod

In this video we show you how to resurrect your old 1980's era Nintendo Entertainment System to make sure it will read your games with the installation of the Arcadeworks Blinking Light Win.

Retro video games are huge right now, from NES and SNES Classic Systems, Clone Hardware and more. But what if you really want to play YOUR NES, you know the one you had in your bedroom as a kid? It never works, it never reads games right, just toss it, right? WRONG! There's a super-easy and budget friendly fix out there called the Blinking Light win which replaces the major component which causes the cartridge errors, the NES' trademark game tray.

The Blinking Light Win conversion replaces the stock tray and 72-pin connector, which can and does fatigue over time, with a fixed tray and new connector which has an amazingly tight grip on your games. Maybe too tight to be honest!

Installation takes about 10- to 20-minutes and it couldn't be easier. The NES uses traditional phillips-head screws so thankfully you don't need a security bit to get into the casing. While you are inside your NES it would do you some good to take some compressed air and get rid of the dust rabbits that are no-doubt flourishing and multiplying inside your system.

What could be improved?

Should you buy one?
Uh, YEAH! Once the conversion has been made you'll be able to play games like normal, just without blowing into cartridges, trying to get the games to catch "just right" inside the pins or otherwise getting it to work. For about $30 it's an amazing conversion and for those who want to go back to stock it's easy to do; but after getting used to your games just working I really wouldn't recommend it.
