In this video, we visit with Richard from Retro-Bit to talk about the upcoming wireless controllers for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Sega Saturn, the currently in-development Wireless Tribute 64, and their tease of an upcoming re-release, also on the Sega Genesis.

Retro-Bit has had quite a year, from the re-releases of Holy Diver and R-Type Returns to the awesome Tribute 64 controller for the Nintendo 64, officially licensed controllers from Sega, and much more. Once again, they were at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo showing off a lot of their cool gear.

I know one thing many people have been asking about is when, oh when, will the Retro-Bit wireless controllers for the Genesis/Mega Drive and Saturn be hitting the streets. The good news is, soon. I actually have my review samples in my hands as we speak. They look & play phenomenally, and it's something I think everyone will be excited to test out.

They also announced their new line of Wireless Sega controllers that can utilize either a USB dongle or the original dongle for a specific console, and both dongles are included! The ones they showed were for the Genesis/Mega Drive and the Saturn again, and quite honestly they looked and felt very similar to their Bluetooth controllers. Additionally, they also teased some other controllers coming down the pipeline in 2020, including a 6 button Genesis controller that was based on the three-button controller molds and casing, a Dreamcast controller, and what can best be described as a new version of the NES Max.

Retro-Bit also had updates on their upcoming release of Metal Storm, those should be shipping in Q4 2019. Looking at everything that comes in the special edition boxes, I have to say they've really outdone themselves this time. The entire package looks amazing and I cannot wait to get my hands on my review copy in a few weeks.

Finally, Retro-Bit teased their next re-release, and it's their first one for Sega consoles. Zero Wing, perhaps best known for its a bad translation "All your base are belong to us", is getting a re-release from Retro-Bit. This project is very much in its early stages but keep your eyes peeled for updates from them and me.
