3D Printed Game Boy Advance SP Display Stands

I have been purchasing and restoring a number of Game Boy Advance SPs over the last few weeks, which is led to one issue: How to display and store these systems now? 3D printing to the rescue!! Let's take a look at the 3D Printed Game Boy Advance SP Display Stands I printed out to store my Nintendo Game Boy SPs and multiple games.

Over the last 18 months or so, I have printed out a number of different designs to store and hold different games and systems. Thingiverse has been an exceptional community resource to find designs that I can utilize. I once again turned there to try to find a solution, but what I found I didn't really love. What I found had storage for the system itself and four games in front, but a ton of game storage behind it. This is far too large for what I was looking for, but I knew I could get closer to what I was desiring.

I threw the model into Tinkercad and began to alter the model and remove the parts I did not want. I didn't want the additional game storage that the original designer provided, I just wanted storage for 4 games and the system. Once I had updated the model, I sliced the files in Cura and uploaded them to my Ender 3 Neo V2 and to my Monoprice Joule which is powered by a Sonic Pad. The Joule printed in about 3 hours and the Neo in about 4 and 1/2 hours. I had both of my prints!

The one thing I have found when using the Sonic Pad is I don't have to use supports as often as with my standard printers. This is because the print moves so fast stringing is less of an issue. I found that to be the case here as well as I printed both of these without supports, and I had some sagging with the overhang on my Ender 3 V2 Neo, but did not have any such issue with my Monoprice Joule with a Sonic Pad.

I now have two great ways to display multiple games and my systems. I'll be printing a few more for my other systems and additional games.
