Mysterious Box from Hyperkin | We'll Reveal All... Eventually

In this video, we're opening up a box full of wonders and mystery from Hyperkin Labs! This box even contains several items we can't discuss... yet.

The one thing we can discuss is we have received a Retron 5 Hyperbeach edition to unbox and test out, so be sure to hit that subscribe button to make sure you know when we review it! One of the biggest features of the Hyperbeach Edition, compared to the Standard Retron 5, is that it actually includes 2 controllers. The wireless one that, well, most people rightfully dispise, but it also includes a wired Scout SNES controller. The Scout is legit quite good, so it is nice to see that in the box as well.

Unlinke the RetronHD, Retron 2 HD, or Retron 3 HD which all use hardware to emulate the orignal systems, the Retron 5 is powered by a version of Android which runs multiple emulators. You'll be able to play NES, SNES, Famicom, Super Famicom, Genesis, Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games right through the system. With a 3-in-1 adapter you can also play Game Gear, Master System and Master System card games.

I have a very special conneciton to the Retron 5, as it is what really got me back into retro gaming. I dropped and broke mine a few years ago, so I have been looking forward to getting one back inthe collection to test and evaluate. Let me know if there are any specific games you'd like me to test, and we'll do our best to feature them in our review.
