Charging Station for Sony Playstation 5 DualSense Controllers

I have been on a real kick lately, trying to make sure all of my stuff is better organized in my game room and in my living room. One of the things I hate is having stuff spread all over the place. This is one of the reasons why I have used charging stands for my wireless controllers for quite some time, but even those can become a cluttered mess when you have enough of them. That's where the folks from YUANHOT come into play, as their new charging dock for the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers is designed to be placed on top of the PS5 and PS5 Digital consoles directly!

The charging stand itself is pretty simple, and I dare say if not mounted on the PlayStation 5, kind of awkward looking. It was designed first and foremost to be placed on your PS5. There are charging locations for two different controllers, along with two bright LED charge indicators so you know if your controller is charged or not. On the rear side of the unit, they opted to use a hard wired USB cable. While I appreciate the fact it is not Micro USB, a wired cord is less than ideal to me.

Set up and installation on my PS5 with super easy. One unique thing is a small adhesive pad on the underside of the charging base. This provides with resistance so that the charging stand does not slide around or pop off the front of your PS5. Simple, but effective. Once I plugged it in and powered my PS5 on, everything lit up exactly as it should, a great sign. While my controllers here were fully charged, I have used this after playing for a few hours on my controllers, and just as advertised, the LED is red when charging, blue when fully charged.

I know many people might be concerned about the fact that this could block the exhaust vents on the top of your PlayStation 5. I talked to both the manufacturer and investigated myself during my testing to see if this was an issue. The way the base is designed, there's plenty of airflow that can get around either side of the charging base while attached to the top of your PS5. As far as I'm concerned, there's little to no issue with cooling air being blocked.

- Hardwired USB cable
- White instead of black option
- Integrated storage for the media remote would be nice

Should you buy one?
As I mentioned, I've really been on a kick to clean and organized my gaming setup, including now mounting my PlayStation 5 on the wall behind my TV. The YUANHOT charging dock helps me further declutter my floating shelves, and stores everything right with my system now. For $20, this is probably one of my favorite accessories now for the PlayStation 5, and one I really like and plan on using into the future.
