LIGHT AND DARK

"Paul contrasts light (the Christian life) with darkness (life outside of Christ). Think for a moment about the properties of light: Light illuminates; light separates (from darkness); light causes growth; light exposes. If your life were exposed to the light of God’s truth and holiness, what would it reveal? That would be a rather unpleasant prospect for the saintliest person. All of us have dark corners—attitudes, thoughts, desires—that we would not want illuminated before God or anyone else.

Thankfully, the light of God’s holiness shines through the filter of His grace. Reflect for a moment on those thoughts and deeds you would not want that light to reveal … and thank God that He has mercifully covered those sins with the cross. Take steps to remove any immoral behavior from your life."

Covers Ephesians 5.8-14
