Variation Is Not Evolution

Does variation in animals prove evolution? Animals change. Dogs change, cats change, and elephants change. They change into dogs, cats, or elephants. In other words, dogs are always dogs. Cats are always cats. Elephants are always elephants. Now, you can have many different species within the dog kind. For example, dingoes, wolves, coyotes, jackals, and fennec foxes. But that's not evolution. That's just speciation that has occurred within a kind because of all the genetic diversity in their DNA.
