HIDDEN TREASURES-THINGS THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

I'am a car guy. You know what they are like? You've seen them around the car lots, at the drag strips, or working on an old hot rod under a shade tree. Well, that's me. I love the smell of gasoline and burning rubber that two hot rodders leave behind, challenging each other on an old country Road.
Showing the Holy Spirit dropped this sword in my heart. Today I was instantly reminded of my 57 Plymouth with the big hemi engine and a four-speed on the floor.
I know I've lost some of you already, and my illustration for you doesn't grab your passion, talking about old cars and smelling gasoline. But you should've been there when you were 19 or 20 and had the fastest car in the block.
The 57 Plymouth was plain looking, and I never had any hubcaps on it, and it definitely didn't look fast. But I had a secret. There was a hidden treasure under the hood that nobody knew about.
So when the guy in the shiny car beside me at the stoplight gave me that "who were you in that crummy car? Look." I would tap into my hidden treasure, lighting the tires and leaving them in the dust. The last thing they would see through burning rubber were my two tail lights off down the road.

That hidden treasure is life, strength, joy, blessing, comfort, and eternal bliss; all wrapped up in what we call the word of God.
It's no wonder that Paul told his young disciple Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God at work, but that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
So get your Bible off the coffee table and put it in your heart.
