Dodge Demon 170 Reveal Heartbreak and Insult – THE BOUNCE!

Dodge SRT Demon 170 gets revealed at the Roadkill Nights event in Las Vegas, NV. Fire, wheelies, and Mopar nuts all gather to see the final 7th Edition Last Call Challenger. BUT...

The speech given by Tim Kiniskis, CEO of Dodge is a bitter one, directed more towards dealers than buyers. Allocations are few, numbers are down, and people are upset that they can’t even get a Scat Pack without ludicrous markups. Its made worse by a flood of content, all seemingly taunting you that none of us plebs can buy this car.

Let’s go back to the Helicopter, showing the leprechaun jumping out of a Black Hawk helicopter, and my comical reaction to the sounds, and also my reaction to the goofy chopper they used.

Sure, it was still cool, and would have been great, if Kiniskis would have just stopped talking about the Dodge Banshee. Nobody came there to hear about an EV, or polar bears or PC stuff. Also, saying SRT is dead, is not a phrase we want a CEO of Dodge to ever utter.

The Demon 170 is still an amazing feat of engineering, and a great car (if only we can buy it). It does a wheelie, and has amazing specs. But I will be talking about the front fender flare delete, and the infamous bounce.

The car seems rushed, and might not even have the final suspension ready (at least that is my hope). The car raises the front wheels on launch, then makes contact with the strip again, only to bounce back up for a second time. There are other things I go over in the video, bringing questions about the SRT Demon 170 and its performance.

Ethanol and E85 raises some concerns as well as the durability of the new engine. It is not a full Hellaphant, only sharing some parts with the crate motor. Will this car be as tough as the original Demon?

I had said before, that if this car is not a Stage III Redeye or Super Stock or Jailbreak, there is little to no incentive to go for Direct Connection stage kits. But for those that want 1000HP plus cars, there are options that offer warranty, have the prestige for collectors, and can be ordered without the insane hoops, markups, bidding and stress that Dodge is putting us through.

Regardless though, we will love our cars, and cherish them, because we are The Brotherhood of Muscle! Thank you to all those that send me emails, messages, called, to show concern. It meant a lot. We are building something unique and powerful, much like the cars we love to drive!
