in 1989, EXTREME released their eponymous debut album. The band was formed in Malden, Massachusetts in 1985, and after developing a strong local following, was signed by A&M Records in 1988. Their first record was heavily influenced by Van Halen, and even though it's somewhat uneven at times, Nuno Bettencourt's playing is positively astounding (highlights include Play With Me, Mutha (Don't Wanna Go To School Today), Big Boys Don't Cry, Little Girls, and Kid Ego). While this should have been the album to put them on the map, it wasn't until their next release, Pornograffitti, that the band became truly well known. What's YOUR favorite song on this album?
