Man Utd fans split on choice of new owners, but unified on wanting Glazers out

Manchester United fans reacted to the ongoing ownership saga as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani emerged as leading contenders to take over from the Glazer family.

The Glazers, who have remained unpopular throughout their stint as the club's owners, announced that they would be willing to listen to offers in November.

Sheikh Jassim is thought to be committed to buying 100 per cent of the club, investing in the stadium and training facilities.

Ratcliffe is believed to be interested in buying the Glazers’ 69 per cent of the club and taking a fan-centred approach to the ownership.

On Thursday, Finnish entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus said he had submitted a bid to buy United.

Zilliacus wanted to buy half of 'The Red Devils' with the other half bought by the fans, who will be part of the club's decision-making.

Interested parties had until 21:00 GMT on Wednesday to enter their bids, before that deadline was extended.
