The President of the Russian Federation, in his speech at the ceremony of accepting new regions into Russia in the Kremlin, quoted the Russian philosopher Ivan Ilyin: “And if I consider Russia my homeland, it means that I love in Russian, contemplate and think, I sing in Russian and I say. His spirit is my spirit; his fate is my fate; his suffering is my grief; its flowering is my joy.”
The choice in the name of Russia was made by residents of LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye, the leader of the country noted. “They made the choice to be with their people, to be with the Motherland, to live its destiny, to win together with it. The truth is behind us, Russia is behind us!” Putin said at the end of his speech.
In his speech, he stressed that residents of the liberated territories of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will forever become citizens of the Russian Federation, and their choice made at the referendum is not subject to discussion. He also noted that Russia will defend its land with all available means, but is ready for negotiations with Kyiv.
Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin and heads of regions Denis Pushilin, Leonid Pasechnik, Vladimir Saldo and Evgeny Balitsky signed agreements on the entry of these territories into Russia as new subjects.
