TikTok CEO Grilled over Surveillance of Americans

Cathy Rodgers a Republican made the following comments at the TikTok hearing:

1. TikTok collects data points that includes people’s location, what they type, who they talk to and their biometric data.

2. TikTok uses surveillance techniques on us all.

3. China uses this as a tool to manipulate America.

4. TikTok will not embrace American values of freedom, human rights and innovation.

5. TikTok should be banned.

6. When questioned by Ms Rodgers, the TikTok CEO was non-committal on whether China would have access to the information from TikTok

7. He was also non-committal on whether surveillance techniques would be used on journalists and Americans.
