A federal judge has DENIED (without prejudice) Strike 3 Holdings, LLC's motion for early discovery. The court essentially LAMBASTED what they termed a “copyright troll” and even called “extortion” in filing so many lawsuits essentially treating the court as an ATM. This is a big case for internet subscribers who may be sued as “John Doe” defendants in Washington D.C. and hopefully, other judges will find this rationale persuasive and adopt it in other jurisdictions where the courts are taking a beating handling so many of these cases.
