In this episode of Trademark College® Attorney Steve® discusses tradeemark renewals and maintenance. Trademarks can POTENTIALLY LAST FOREVER, making this one of a company's MOST IMPORTANT ASSETS. But, to maintain the power and the rights that come with owning a trademark, you need to renew your mark and file declarations and pay filing fees to stay in good graces.

1. Afer 5 years file Section 8 Declaration of use

2. After 10 years file section 9 renewal form

3. For marks registered on the principle register (as opposed to the supplemental register), you can file a section 15 application for INCONTESTIBILITY status (if the mark has been continuously used in commerce for 5 or more years.
