Lionel Messi back training with Argentina after World Cup victory

Three months after lifting the World Cup trophy in Qatar, Lionel Messi was back at training on home soil with Argentina national team on Tuesday ahead of FIFA friendly match against Panama.

Lionel Scaloni's squad will play their first post-World Cup matches against Panamá on 23rd March in Buenos Aires and against Curacao on 28th March 2023 in Santiago del Estero.

Argentina won their third World Cup title by beating France 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw, featuring two goals from the 35-year-old Messi and a hat trick by his heir apparent, France forward Kylian Mbappé.
