Gran Fondo Strade Bianche 2023

Gran Fondo Strade Bianche follows the pro womens' route that runs the day before the event.
It was a race that pushed us over the limit and a little bit more. Stunning views, killer climbs, mechanicals dragged us over the 7 hour mark just by 13 minutes, plus a late start due to gridding meant not getting by the finish before the cutoff. An experience we will likely repeat next year, but with our bikes instead of hired ones. The tyre choice (or not a choice really) meant draggy flats and lots of wasted energy climbing with heavy gears. I would recommend skinnier tyres (although not road tyres as the pros) for a faster ride and less energy waste.

Thanks to @granfondostradebianche133 for organising and all the sponsors.
