Tracking Plane After Takeoff with Nikon P950 Atmosphere effects

You can fast forward if you like, I post as much uncut as possible for people who want it. You'll notice the same effect trains and cars have that travel off in the distance in a hot desert... ever see them disappear into a mirage? Planes do this too. Why can't we see infinitely far? Look at that atmosphere... the conditions vary throughout each town, state, country, continent... etc. It doesn't go behind a ball. Large objects in background are covered by small objects in the foreground, and atmospheric conditions block a lot.
