A Tale-Bearer

If we stop listening to and spreading assumptions, speculations or presuppositions and we stop the spread of strife and instead of confusion, we have peace. A Tale-Bearer could easily be me or you, or all of us, because we all at some time or another speak out of assumption, speculation or presupposition and these are all on the enemies playground of strife. This is exactly where the enemy wants us, being a Tale-Bearer. A forceful opinion is driven by pride, and pride is at the root of every Tale-Bearer. Pride! We want our opinions to matter and we don’t want to listen to truth, we want to pridefully lift up our opinion into the first slot where everyone can admire it. Opinions are very, very often at their formation, deceptively based on thoughts of assumption, speculation or presupposition. Where do these thoughts come from? The enemy of our soul, the father of lies. When we think on an assumptive, presumptive or speculative thought, the enemy of our soul is shaping us into a Tale-Bearer, who is forming opinions driven by pride, so we can tell His Tale of deception which is not “The Story” but A Story. Being a Tale-Bearer is not even the endgame of the enemy, he wants to escalate Tale-Bearing into strife and confusion. Where there is confusion, we know automatically that the enemy is in play and deception is the game plan as we run around the bases of confusion, strife and pride. The best choice we can make, thought to thought, is to cast out of our mind any assumption, speculation or presupposition and think only on what we know is truth, not on what we “think we know” and this creates less strife in our lives and keeps us from being The Tale-Bearer the enemy is scheming for us to be.
