Rev9 Hyper-Street II Coilovers Sound - Avoid Their Coilovers!

This is a new set of Rev9 Hyper-Street II struts that I had installed by a local shop. The preload is set by the factory and they instruct you NOT to adjust this. These are installed on a 2004 Toyota Avalon XLS that is in very nice condition, no rust underneath the car at all. The rear sway bar bushings and end links are new as well.

This sound was recorded by placing my phone beneath the rear of the vehicle and pressing down on the rear fender. This set ran me about $600 and an additional $350 to have them installed with front end alignment. I have since purchased a new rear set of OEM struts at a cost of $1000 and will be replacing them myself. Rev9 Power has not been helpful in trying to resolve this issue. In fact, attempting to visit their website results in my anti-virus going wild, stating their website is infected with a trojan virus.

I mistakenly emailed another company with a similar name about this and they politely replied that they were not connected with Rev9 Power but told me that they receive a lot of emails from customers complaining about the Rev9 products. I can understand why.

I replaced my old struts only because the car was a bit springy and discovered they were aftermarket struts as well and were completely blown and would not return on their own when pushed down (without the coils). Still, they were far better than the Rev9 struts and had been on the vehicle for more than 10 years. If Rev9 Power refunds my money for these struts which are supposedly under a 1-year warranty, then I will remove this video.
