In Japan, March 3 is Hina-matsuri (the Doll Festival). It is a Japanese annual event to pray for the healthy growth of young girls by displaying several dolls dressed in courtly costumes. In the days when the medical system was not in place, the mortality rate of children was high, and the custom of decorating dolls to protect children from misfortune is said to have led to the Hina-matsuri.

This song is an original composition for a mother who is expecting a baby girl. It is a lullaby that she sings for herself and her unborn daughter while talking to the child in her tummy. 3月3日はひな祭り。宮廷衣装に身を纏った複数の雛人形を飾って、少女の健やかな成長を祈る日本の年中行事です。医療制度が整っていない時代には子供の死亡率が高く、人形を飾って、子供たちを災難から守る風習があり、それがひな祭りになっていったと言われています。
