Matthew 5:3 - Poor in Spirit

Jesus opens up the greatest sermon ever preached, the Sermon on the Mount, with a declaration, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." He could not have been clearer, those who come into the kingdom of heaven are very different from those who belong in the kingdom of this world, and this is only accomplished by God's grace.
