031623 MOTORCYCLE SLAMS INTO REAR OF 18-WHEELER MAKING A DELIVERY

At 10:37 am Caney Creek Fire Department responded to a reported motorcycle vs box truck in the 11300 block of Stidham Road just off FM 1314. Units arrived to find the driver on the ground with a severe head injury. MCHD transported that driver to HCA Conroe in critical condition. Stidham Road was closed for several hours as DPS investigated the crash. A driver for Central Transport 18-wheeler was delivering several crates to a residence. He had already removed several large crates. His hazard flashers were on and the lift gate was down when a 2006 Harley Davidson, driven by a male in his 60s approached the truck. He hit his brakes at the last minute, laying the motorcycle down and slamming into the rear of the 18-wheeler. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control. The 2006 motorcycle which only had 400 miles on it was removed from the scene by Ricky’s Wrecker Service.
